FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Individual Leases

Individual leasing means peace of mind for you. Your financial responsibility is only for your space unlike many apartments or rental houses where a joint lease is signed. If a roommate transfers to another school or moves out of VOX for any reason, you do not have to worry about having to cover their portion of rent. This is just another reason why VOX is a Florida State University student’s best housing option!

What if I have a problem with my apartment?

Our maintenance staff will respond to your student’s maintenance issues quickly and professionally. VOX offers 24-hour emergency maintenance as well so that your student’s comfort is not affected.

What living options are available?

VOX offers many spacious floor plan options so you will easily be able to find one to suit your needs. We have one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom, four-bedroom, and five-bedroom apartments as well as four-bedroom townhomes. All bedrooms have their own bathroom. Your rent includes utilities (water, sewer, trash), electricity set up and individually billed per person, premium cable, wired and Wi-Fi Internet, furniture, access to VOX amenities, and so much more!

What Furniture should I bring?

VOX is a fully-furnished community, saving you money! Each resident will have a bed, large desk and chair, under the bed / stackable dresser drawers, walk-in closet, and private bathroom. The kitchen comes fully equipped with granite countertops, an extended bar/island area with bar stools provided, stainless steel style appliances, a full-size refrigerator with icemaker, a dishwasher, and a washer & dryer.

Do I have to find roommates before signing?

If you do not have a roommate in mind, we can find you one! Each resident at VOX will fill out a Roommate Matching form so that we know what they are looking for in a roommate. During the summer, we spend weeks looking at these preferences and matching them up with the best person we can find!

Do you host activities at VOX?

While the main focus of your college career will be about graduating and getting a fulfilling job, you also need to have fun along the way. At VOX, you will create life-long relationships and connections that will make them even more successful. Our great staff plans monthly resident events to get you and your neighbors involved. We want you to succeed, and that’s why we thought of them while designing VOX as a Living-Learning environment!

Is there insurance coverage in the event of a fire, theft or natural causes? Does my lease provide coverage for my belongings?

What if I need to break my lease or don't return for the spring semester?

VOX's lease is binding and cannot be broken. If you cannot live at VOX after signing your lease, you will need to re-let, or find a replacement for your space. Please call the leasing office for information on re-letting.
